Assistant/Associate Professor position at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Computational and Systems Biology

We invite applications for a tenure-track Faculty position at Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Computational and Systems Biology (DCSB) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. We seek creative individuals who will develop a cutting-edge research program and lead collaborative research initiatives on the development, use, and dissemination of novel methods from computational, physical sciences and/or engineering sciences to address current challenges in computational and systems biology and to facilitate the translation of basic research into clinical applications.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and research accomplishments in one area of Computational and Systems Biology including but not limited to the following research areas: modeling molecular and cellular structure, dynamics and function; computational genomics and evolutionary biology; mixed data analysis and integration (including image and omics data); drug discovery and quantitative systems pharmacology, with applications to immunology, neurobiology, cancer biology, aging, microbiology and personalized medicine. While the position requires interest, vision and accomplishments in computational biology, wet lab experience and goals will be considered as a plus.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to mentor an elite group of students at the Joint Carnegie Mellon University–University of Pittsburgh PhD Program in Computational Biology (CPCB), in addition to the Integrative Systems Biology Ph.D. Program (ISB) and the Computational Biomedicine and Biotechnology Master’s Program (CoBB).
