Administrative Manager
Manages human resources, faculty affairs, and visa/immigration processes. Acts as departmental liaison for Benefits, OIS, and Payroll. Scott Frantz
Senior Financial Administrator
Responsible for all Post Award functions including continuations, activations, 0136 and 0202's, BMR's, journal entries, and MTA's. Monitors grant levels and communicates information to faculty. Provides purchasing policy guidance. Grant funded purchase approval and Capital purchases. Maintains grant database and compiles grant data for dissemination. Useful Links: NIH Compliance
Amanda L. Axelson, MBA
Master's Program & Office Coordinator
Manages the Computational Biomedicine and Biotechnology (COBB) educational and departmental administrative activities. Acts as department liaison to the university registrar’s office to ensure the completion of all requirements regarding course creation, interacts with other universities during the recruitment process, and student matriculation to graduation. Additionally, acts as liaison to industry partners, facilitating interactions between external partners, the Director, and students related to internships and independent study opportunities. Responsible for developing and updating paper and electronic marketing materials, track performance measures of students, and monitor expenditures. Provides departmental administrative support including: travel arrangements, processing Travel and Business Disbursements, and other necessary tasks to support the office.
Amanda Shaheen, M.Ed.
Assistant to the Chair
Provides editorial and administrative support to the Chair. Monitors and maintains the Chair’s calendar. Performs HR functions for the Bahar Lab. Plans and schedules faculty recruitment candidate visits to the department. Coordinates NIH grant applications and is responsible for writing the administrative and organizational sections of the proposals. Creates and manages academic projects with both internal and external organizations and research partners.

For help with access to a department or local account, any hardware or software issues including purchases, any classroom issues, cluster queues, all wireless or wired connections, support for new web pages and updates to current web pages, also available for general computer or technology questions.

Educational Programs Administrator
Provides administration and support for all education programs. Responsible for all program policies, enrollment records and registration and appointment letters. Handles admissions responsibilities which include applications, candidate travel and candidate itineraries. Gathers and disseminates data on the PhD Program.
