Are you still trying to finalize your spring term class schedule? Consider signing up for Bioimaging, Analysis and Spatial Biology (MSCBIO 2027).
This new course from Assistant Professor Shikhar Uttam introduces students to micron, nanometer and sub-nanometer scale imaging-based approaches in experimental, computational and systems biology. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the fundamentals of image formation, processing and analysis of brightfield, phase-contrast, highly multiplexed, super-resolution, live-cell, cryo-EM and computational imaging. Applications of these methods in studying biological phenomena in space and time will also be discussed. Python will be the programming language in which image processing, machine learning and systems biology methods introduced in the course will be implemented. Students are expected to know Python basics.
Class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in 814A Murdoch Building. The class dates are Jan. 8, 2025 through April 30, 2025. Don’t miss your chance to add this exciting course to your schedule!
