Anne-Ruxandra Carvunis has received a 2022 Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Award along with 14 other faculty members.

According to the official release, she was “recognized for her work on new genes that emerge through evolution. One of just a handful of the foremost experts on this phenomenon, Carvunis’ peers called her research ‘among the most innovative’ in evolutionary biology.”

The Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Award annually recognizes outstanding scholarly accomplishments of members of the University of Pittsburgh’s faculty. For more the official announcement, please click here.
