The Ayoob Lab is an experimental research group in the Department of Computational and Systems Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  Our work focuses on the molecular mechanisms of cellular elimination that are required to remove damaged and extraneous cells from the body to ensure proper development and avoid both autoimmune diseases and cancer.

Dr. Ayoob is also active in scientific outreach to provide mentoring and training opportunities to help prepare the next generation of scientists.  He has established a departmental Tiered Mentoring and Training framework that provides numerous levels of mentorship for nascent scientists, while also providing important professional development opportunities for emerging researchers and educators.
