Just this past weekend, the students, faculty, and staff of both sides of our joint program ventured to Hidden Valley, PA for a weekend of science, sports, and socializing.

For those of us entering our 5th year, for whom this will most likely be our final CPCB retreat, it was among the most enjoyable. Several long-term projects and winds of change have taken roots in earnest, the biggest of which is our venture into a student-directed grantsmanship project. We spent a good deal of time at the retreat pitching this idea, and we’re optimistic that it will be successful in its pilot year!

Bear with us as we update this site with everything that has happened since 2013: this includes moving this site to a new–and permanent!–departmental server. Woohoo!

Shannon Quinn sailed through faculty interview season. He will hold a joint appointment in the Departments of Computer Science and Cell Biology at the University of Georgia, Athens, GA as a Junior Faculty member starting Jan, 2015. Congratulations Shannon!!
